Little Blue Truck’s Springtime by Alice Schertle
This product was recommended by Scott Perry from Catcher’s Home
I highly recommend the book Little Blue Truck’s Springtime, as one of the top books about spring. Yes, this is a children’s book, but I’ve read it to my children for a few years now and they love it! The book is well constructed and it has flaps, so you read the text and the child lifts the flap to see what it reveals beneath (such as a family of ducks, as an example). It is light-hearted, encouraging, fun, and provides kids with an eager anticipation of spring.

This book showcases a lively and straightforward conversation with mother nature of a young boy who observes how the seasons keep changing from winter to spring. As the days extend, animals creep out from their abode, and the lush green grows again. Hence, it’s the onset of the spring season. In this book, a boy and his pet dog explore nature differently, stroll through the countryside, and perceive all the cues of the upcoming spring season.

Who is ready to read a picture book with one of the most controversial endings? An ending that is dividing people into two camps – LOVE it or HATE it. After a very lucky break from the shop, a chocolate bunny embarks on a spring adventure of his lifetime in this engaging rhyming tale. What befalls him in the wild wild world where chocolate bunnies are not supposed to roam? WARNING: This book should be read with a consideration as the ending could upset some readers.

Everything Spring by Jill Esbaum
This product was recommended by Ronnie Collins from Electro Garden Tools
Although this picture book about spring is usually recommended for kids of age 5-8 it’s actually an exciting light reading for anyone. Jill Esbaum wrote this book in partnership with National Geographic. The agency supplied the talented writer with superb photo illustrations that let you dive into spring deeper than ever and feel the uplifting breath of this flourishing time of year. It’s a perfect book when you want to take a closer look at the animals and plants of spring and can’t do that right away in real life of the city.
The Thing About Spring by Daniel Kirk
This product was recommended by Abby Drow from Cloom
This was our favorite, and even my older kids sat on the sofa when they heard me reading it. It’s a charmingly drawn story about Rabbit, who is not looking forward to spring because he has had so much fun throughout the winter. He won’t be able to create snow bunnies or snow forts, stinky Bear would awaken and want a hug, and so on. Rabbit’s merry companions, Mouse, Bird, and Bear, eventually persuade him that spring has a lot of promise. It comes highly recommended! One to be proud of.
