The 2019 Greta Thunberg climate strikes, for example, inspired millions of students around the world to protest and demand action on climate change. Similarly, youth-led movements like March for Our Lives, founded by students after the tragic shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, have helped push for stricter gun laws in the United States.

Take, for example, the Black Lives Matter movement, which has been significantly amplified by social media. The viral spread of videos documenting police violence against Black individuals has helped raise awareness globally and has galvanized activism across generations.
The Future of Youth-Led Change
Young people are not just calling for change—they’re creating it. They’re launching businesses focused on sustainability, advocating for systemic policy changes, and using their voices to raise awareness on issues that impact marginalized communities. The future of activism is bright, with young people at the helm.
But it’s not just about the future. Young people are changing the world right now, and they’ll continue to do so for years to come. The best way we can support them is by listening, amplifying their voices, and following their lead.
