Dr. Mercola’s Broad Spectrum Sunscreen SPF 15 is a lighter formula that’s safe for both adults and kids. This zinc oxide-based formula contains 9.5% zinc oxide and no titanium dioxide. Plus, it provides 40 minutes of water resistance between applications.

Mercola Sunscreen Review:

Dr. Mercola’s Broad Spectrum Sunscreen SPF 15 is the top of the line vitamin C and antioxidant based sunscreen formula that’s free from all the harmful chemicals that give other sunscreens a bad reputation.

The key ingredients in Dr. Mercola’s Broad Spectrum Sunscreen SPF 15 are vitamin C ascorbic acid, Japanese green tea extract and grape seed oil Extract.

Vitamin C protects against cell damage that’s caused by ultraviolet (UV) rays while Japanese green tea extract acts as an antioxidant that slows triglyceride and LDL (“bad”) cholesterol production. Grape seed oil Extract blocks UV free radicals from ruining your skin cells.

Dr. Mercola’s Broad Spectrum Sunscreen SPF 15 contains no parabens, sodium lauryl sulfate, synthetic fragrances, PEG, PPG’s, oxybenzone, or petroleum oil derivatives. Plus, the formula doesn’t contain nano particles, nano zinc or nano titanium dioxide.

This won’t clog your pores, irritate your skin or give you a white, chalky look. It’s also waterproof, so you can go swimming and bathing in the sun.

Dr. Mercola’s Broad Spectrum Sunscreen SPF 15 isn’t for everyone. Our mom of 3 kids who now live in a desert heat haven in Southern California, Arizona and Texas needs much more. She has combination skin with a skin tone that leans a little red in her cheeks.

For her, she uses the SPF 15 plus formula in the light. I used it on her and the kids and it worked great. I love the coconut scent as it smells like you were eating a fresh coconut.

I’ve used a dozen different sunscreens and the best formula I’ve found is zinc oxide and titanium dioxide as they aren’t hormone or chemical laden.

As a sunscreen, Dr. Mercola’s Broad Spectrum Sunscreen SPF 15 is effective and it works for most people of almost all skin tones and genders. But, since it’s based on a cellulose-based physical ingredient system that doesn’t filter out hazardous UV rays, I would not recommend it for anyone wanting state-of-the-art protection against the sun.

For those who want UV protection, there are several formulations that use ingredients that are much more effective and safer that are available.

Dr. Mercola’s Broad Spectrum Sunscreen SPF 15 is a good product but it’s not the best.

A few months ago my mother forgot to apply her makeup before going to an outdoor concert in the evening and was baking in the sun all night. It was horrible. It’s not like she had burned her face; it was her upper back and part of her arms and hands that got burned.

Thank goodness she wasn’t wearing any sunscreen. She had to pay a ridiculous fine.

There are many people in the United States who are in the same situation as my mom and who don’t know how to stop the dangerous sun damage from happening.

She’s now using a natural vitamin C formula along with a unique tomato leaf extract to naturally protect her skin from the sun and I know she will never forget to apply this combo of sun protection anytime again.

Dr. Mercola’s Broad Spectrum Sunscreen is about perfect in terms of value and effectiveness. It’s not the best sunscreen on the market, but it’s better than most.

And it gets the job done at a reasonable price — a big plus.

I don’t have a vitamin C serum so I can’t tell you the effectiveness of the vitamin C based formulation. But, I’ve used Dr. Mercola’s Broad Spectrum Sunscreen and, for the most part, it works.

But, like any sunscreen, a little goes a long way. My husband and I both used the product and I used too much. He had to wipe off the sunscreen. But, that’s okay because it’s a matter of personal preference.

If you live in the sunshine state of California, Arizona and Texas you may want to use a different sunscreen that contains zinc oxide and titanium dioxide because it’s more effective. Sunscreens from other manufacturers are available here at Mercola.com.

So, if you need the best sun protection, go for a different formula from other manufacturers. If you’re looking for something that’s affordable and effective to protect your skin from harmful UV rays, you’ve found it with Dr. Mercola’s Broad Spectrum Sunscreen SPF 15.

Mercola Sunscreen Review:

Is Dr. Mercola’s Broad Spectrum Sunscreen SPF 15 perfect? No. I could say that about any product out there, but it’s good.

It’s exactly what you need if you’re looking for something that’s affordable and effective to protect your skin from harmful UV rays.

I’d give it 60 percent for effectiveness and affordability. And I’d give it a nine.

Better, but not better than other sunscreens. If you choose to use Dr. Mercola’s Broad Spectrum Sunscreen, apply a little bit on your skin in a small amount of the lotion and rub it in. You’ll get the same results that you would with traditional sunscreen.

And there’s no need to use a lot. Just a little goes a long way.
