This is the book I wish I’d had as a young girl. Growing up mixed, I didn’t see many powerful, wealthy women that looked like me. To read the story of another mixed woman who had similar life experiences, was broker than a joke like me as a young adult, dealt with self-doubt and shame and STILL rose and became wealthy is more than powerful. It is empowering. Power is more than a title or net worth. It is an opportunity to empower countless others and when you read Rachel’s book, you WILL be empowered to do the same. Trust and believe.

Sues quest to WIN, chasing the worlds idea of normal, she lands the guy all the other woman want, invents and sells her own product on QVC, and still there is a void. As powerful as she is, she struggled with her demons. Sue has to give up drinking for good this time, or she will continue to mask her true feelings and repeat the infinite task of trying to WIN the worlds idea of success, and miss out on whats real.

I actually met the author – Alisa – on my world travels and I never would have guessed that this strong, powerful woman that interacts with the world with such grace and humility had ever endured the level of hardship she has. From being a child bride to escaping a religious cult to becoming a journalist covering the Obama administration to diving deep into her healing journey and becoming an international speaker, coach and spiritual mentor. Alisa’s story is an inspirational reminder to us all to set ourselves free, to reclaim our feminine powers and to always make lemonade with the lemons life throws at us. A must-read!

In this short biography, author Annie Boochever teams up with Elizabeth’s son Roy Jr. to tell the inspiring story of this Tlingit woman who would not bow down to injustice. *Fighter in Velvet Gloves* is marketed for teens, but in my opinion it is an essential read for people of all ages.

If ever there was a woman who exemplified power, it would be Golda Meir. She sat at the very top of the Israeli government when it was arguably the most challenging job one could ever wish for. By all means, this is one of the most intriguing personal stories I’ve come across. It reads like a fairy tale of sorts. The book is written almost with the cadence of her own voice. If anything, the strength and vision she possessed can clearly be seen from every page in the book. Other writers tend to glean from Golda’s words and derive from her words. Seeing her own words, and reading how she viewed things from her own perspective is quite refreshing. I was definitely riveted by the bok.

Her gentle and sturdy nature shows us that power comes in many forms.

The female protagonists in this tale are fantastic. You feel as if you are there with the characters as they experience triumphs, tragedies, losses, and newfound love. This novel illustrates the actual fortitude of women. Nina is, without a doubt, one of my favorite characters in any book. If you appreciate reading about Nazis being tracked down, this is a must-read!

This book is an honest story based on her life and all the avenues of healing that she has attempted and finding her own worth- her process of healing that she wishes to inspire other victims and survivors with her courage and will to heal and flourish.

This is a wonderful book written by two successful and inspiring women who truly have a great sense of words. Katty and Claire reinforce the need to believe in yourself when you wake up each day. Not only do they use real-life examples and experiences, but they use actual research based on gender, genetics, and more. Katty and Claire believe that the main thing standing in the way of most potential female entrepreneurs is a lack of self-confidence. These authors talk about the importance of believing in yourself, provide tangible advice on how you can believe in yourself, and reading this will help you push your career & business forward (or even your personal life)!

I will recommend this book because the author herself is a Hollywood movie icon who tells the stories of a glamourous and scandalous life. This revolves around her making way to Los Angeles from the 1950s to the 1980s when she said goodbye to the industry with seven husbands along the way. This was the most captivating read of 2017.
