Jason Mineral Sunscreen Overview:

An SPF 30 mineral based natural sunscreen with UVA/UVB protection.  It creates a natural barrier to protect against sunburn and the sun’s damaging rays which can lead to premature aging.  The easy-to-rub formula won’t leave a white film on the skin like most mineral sun screens and because it is chemical and fragrance free, as well as hypoallergenic it is ideal for sensitive skin.

Jason Mineral Sunscreen Review:

I love this sunscreen. I’ve been using it for about 2 years now. I’ve tried dozens of sunscreens over the years, and I always come back to this one. I’m very very pale, and very very fair. I may have the skin of a vampire, but I’m a mere mortal, and I do need to wear sunscreen on my face and hands.

The Jason mineral sunscreen is a physical sunscreen. Physical sunscreens work like a barrier on your skin. They don’t break down as easily as the notruel chemical sunscreens. They stick to your skin as long as possible, keeping you from burning, even if you stay out in the sun for hours.

For me, it’s a life saver. I tend to spend time out in the sun, all day, day after day. I’m a gardener, and I tend to spend 8 hours a day either in the garden, or building it.

I need to wear sunscreen on my face, because there’s a good chance I’ll get a sunburn otherwise. However, most mineral sunscreens are just too heavy and sticky. They don’t spread well, and I can’t stand the feel of most of them on my skin.

I’ve also tried the spray-on sunscreens. Honestly, I can’t stand them either. It’s not that they feel sticky or heavy on my skin. It’s the smell that drives me nuts. The smell of most of them is so strong, and I just can’t stand the smell on my skin.

Some days, I have to put up with the smell, because I’ve forgotten to wear sunscreen the day before, and I’m so busy it slips my mind. But no matter how busy I am, I’m always sure to wear sunscreen on my face and hands every day, even if I’m just popping outside to grab lunch. Most of the time it isn’t a problem, because I wear this Jason sunscreen.

I really like how natural this sunscreen is. It’s got an SPF of 30, it’s chemical free and hypoallergenic. I like that it’s not a spray-on formula, but that can be a downside, because it is a liquid. It’s gets all over everything if you knock the bottle over, and I’ve had problems with it leaking through my purse and ruining my phone.

However, it does stay on my skin for at least 4 hours, or until I take a shower, and that’s pretty good for a skin screen. It doesn’t leave my skin greasy, or sticky. It’s incredibly easy to spread and covers the areas I need it to, easily.

It’s available at most grocery stores and drugstores, and it costs about $12. That’s a little pricey, considering I can get a smaller bottle of some of the other natural sunscreens for just a few cents more.

My favorite thing about this sunscreen is that it really does last as long as they claim. I can go out for hours, and I only need to top up once or twice, even on the longest hot days.

It’s been a really nice find, because it protects my skin, and it doesn’t disgust me when I wear it. A little goes a long way, too, so I can be sure I can wear it all summer without needing a refill.
