The book I recommend is ‘The Things You Can See Only When You Slow Down: How to be Calm in a Busy World.’ By Chi-Young Lim. This book is full of insight and practical advice, and in this day and age is more relevant than ever. In a world where we feel the need to constantly be switched on and on the go, it was refreshing to read about the ways to slow down and relax.
Hari’s book has completely changed my perspective on how I view depression and happiness. As a person dealing with symptoms of depression at a very young age, I couldn’t really understand why I feel the way I feel. I also felt extremely hopeless at what I could do to make myself feel better. Hari, in his book, explains nine major causes of depression and anxiety, which were uncovered and evidenced by several different scientists from across the world. When reading Hari’s work, I slowly started realising why my anxiety levels were so high and figured out how, unintentionally, some of the major depression causes are present in my own life. Thanks to this discovery, I began a shift in the way I live my life – from being around nature more often, to improving my relationships with friends and family and reflecting on my true values. But this book is not only for those struggling with depression – it’s for everyone who seeks inspiration for improving the quality of their own life.

I have always lived with the philosophy of starting any new change or task in a small way, and this book just ascertains that fact. It’s like if you make your bed when you wake up, you are ready to go on with your day. It’s the little success in the morning that defines the rest of your day. It’s quite inspiring because even if you face failures ahead, you would be better prepared with one success in your pocket. If nothing works, at least you come back to a neat bed!
Each chapter of Love Does is a short story of an extraordinary incident in the author’s life that came about by either helping others, saying yes, or just being willing to jump into a situation without knowing the outcome. Every story has a lesson that could easily apply to anyone’s life. It’s truly a unique way of looking at the world and a must-read for everyone who wants to be inspired and enjoy their life to the fullest.
I find that it is always easiest to find inspiration from those that have hard a life filled with adversity and struggle. It is why this book speaks to me so much, and why i consider it a great work of insight into how you can find inspiration in any sort of life, regardless of the circumstances. This book is full of various stories that focus on different real life people and the adversities they have faced in life, along with a psychological commentary by Dr Jeffrey. It’s an incredibly interesting read, and is guaranteed to leave you inspired.
The title of this book explains how you’ll feel after reading it. John O’Leary challenges your perception of what life means to you and how to get the most out of it. Don’t go another day without reading this book to light the fire of life that lives inside of you
The main lesson to take away from this book is that putting others first in certain situations is actually one of the best ways to achieve things in life. I love this idea because I am of the firm belief that helping others thrive and feel happier in themselves and their body can also make me happier and more fulfilled. This book’s perspective has definitely confirmed for me that I am pursuing the right career path and that helping others is a worthwhile goal for a full and brilliant future.
If you’re looking to be inspired right on your doorstep, then I recommend reading Blue Highways: A Journey into America by William Least Heat Moon. It’s a travel book that takes a look at the places that tourists won’t necessarily see, and how the small towns of America have just as much, and more, to offer when compared to the big cities.
I highly recommend, “Heal Your Life,” by Louise Hay as an inspirational book. Louise is incredibly inspiring, motivational, positive, and talks about how we can all become a bright, shimmering, being of light and radiance. So often, we get clouded by painful moments of the past, regrets, and anger. She talks about how giving love to ourselves first and foremost is a path of healing and emotional rejuvenation from all of this pain and suffering. I love how she talks about spiritual connection and she is so encouraging sharing that each person can create a healthy, loving, nurturing life for selves by the choices they make. Louise is a spiritual guide and a spiritual teacher to many women and her books are incredibly powerful to read. If you are going through something really challenging or painful in your life, reading this book can really help you feel a sense of empowerment and give you the ability to feel strong and get through. Even if you are just looking for a little inspiration in your daily life, I highly recommend adding this book to your bookshelf. Everyone can relate to Louisa‘s teachings.

There are no certain inspiring books. Some books inspire you, regardless of the genre. I like stories that stay with me, long after reading them. Brida by Paulo Coelho is that book for me. Paulo Coelho is an amazing author, who has a way with subtle storytelling. He draws you in with his flawed characters and leaves you in awe of their development. Brida has a lot of inspiring lessons. The book emphasizes how it requires courage to make mistakes. And how mistakes should be made. Often in life, we obsess over our mistakes and regret them. But there is nothing to feel sad about. The book is about a self-journey and you, the reader are also taking this journey with Brida.
The title might make it seem like this book is merely about money, but the principles in this life-changing book can be used to make-over any aspect of your life. The book walks you through the process of figuring out what’s holding you back, of discovering what limiting beliefs are in the way of having the life and things that you desire, and how to overcome and change them. It helps you see (and more importantly- believe) that the life you desire truly is possible, and it inspires you to stop settling for less than you want.
In the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic, Joseph D. Pianka, M.D. faced physician burnout and depression, so he sat at his computer and typed until the sun came out (literally and metaphorically). His book, *It’s All in Your Head*, compiles insight gained from his experiences as well as prior acquired knowledge for everyone who simply isn’t motivated by traditional fitness ads. He wants to start a conversation about basic concepts that have made an enormous difference for both himself and his patients, everyday individuals with busy lives and varied hobbies.
Caitlin Billings aims to prove that people can build a depth of understanding and acceptance if they embrace imperfection and self-love. By sharing her memoir, “warts and all,” she hopes to change the lives of others with her message, “You matter. You are no other. You are not alone.” She thought she could neatly walk away from her past, until a hold-up at gunpoint breaks her carefully balanced world apart. Suddenly, Caitlin must accept her own bipolar disorder diagnosis while raising two young children, one of whom comes out as gender-fluid child and inherited depressive behaviors. Part coming-of-age, part reckoning of motherhood, *In Our Blood* is a therapist’s honest account of professional and personal struggles and an intergenerational story of acceptance, self-love and fluidity.
This was the award winning book as it is one of the best inspiring books that collects thirty years of his speeches that were delivered before college grads, congress members and everyone in between.
