This product was recommended by Niamh Jordan from Which Watch Next
This book is a beautiful work of fiction. About a woman who leaves her destroyed life behind to escape on a solo hike of a lifetime. She hikes the beautiful Pacific Crest Trail. This journey helps her to rebuild her confidence and her life. This book is all about grief and healing. It is an inspiring book that any mother and daughter would enjoy reading together. A truly heartwarming tale of a girl who finds herself again in the wild. This book was also made into a film of the same name, starring Reese Witherspoon. You both should watch it after finishing the book.
Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
This product was recommended by Jonie Toh from Baby Journey
It’s quite difficult for me to truly love a book and admire the plot and characters of the story, but Jane Austen nailed it in this masterpiece of hers. My mom isn’t much of a reader but the cute interactions between the main leads got her hooked till the end. We’ve thoroughly enjoyed the slow romance and witty exchanges set in the 19th-century, and this book is just so entertaining! We’d discussed the what-ifs and recollected the funny moments between two main stars of the story, Elizabeth and Darcy. Totally worth reading, and a must-read even!
The Princess Bride by William Goldman
This product was recommended by Jonie Toh from Baby Journey
This book is like an adventure on a whole new level – The Princess Bride never fail to surprise you in a good way from start to finish! While some parts may sound bewildering and ridiculous, they are what makes the book such a charming read. If you and your mom are huge fans of a witty true love’s tale of a man willing to fight his way to rescue his love in a brilliant yet not-so-cheesy manner, this book is for you!

The book talks about all sorts of things that can impact a mother-daughter relationship, including many things that don’t always get talked about in everyday conversations.
The Betsy-Tacy Treasury by Maud Hart Lovelace
This product was recommended by Rebecca Deitsch from Books ‘n’ Backpacks
My mother read the entire Betsy-Tacy series out loud to me when I was little, and to this day we still discuss the characters! Betsy Ray is a little girl living in Deep Valley, Minnesota in the early 1900s. Throughout the 10 books, we watch Betsy and her best friend Tacy grow and mature. Mothers and daughters will love reading about little Betsy going to school for the first time, writing her first stories, and exploring Deep Valley from top to bottom. Later, we see Betsy facing the challenges of high school, experiencing the ups and downs of love, venturing to Europe on her own, and finally getting married and publishing her writings. The great thing about this series is that different books are appropriate for children and young adults of different ages. When I was 5-10, I loved the first few Betsy-Tacy books . . . and then in my teens, I read and reread the later instalments. The Betsy-Tacy books cover pretty much every aspect of growing up, so they raise all kinds of questions and themes that mothers and daughters will enjoy discussing together. Betsy herself has a close relationship with her own mother, and Mrs. Ray is a constant source of wisdom and merriment throughout the series. I can’t recommend it enough!

It’s a beautiful, Instagrammable, full-color book that’s part guided journal and part discovery course in feminism. Every page encourages girls to scribble their thoughts, reflect, engage, and be bold in their thinking, while underscoring their innate strength and authenticity. In an accessible and stylish layout, GIRLISH highlights Women to Whoa About! – figures who have changed the world while also encouraging girls to believe in their own worth, to celebrate each other, and to embrace what makes them unique. Mixed in with the bright and fun format, the message is serious – girls need to know they are seen and heard. Its messages include gender equality, body positivity, and female empowerment – how to handle a bully, how a real friend should behave, and above all, how to accept who you are, no matter what!
The Bonesetter’s Daughter by Amy Tan
This product was recommended by Isla Sibanda from Privacy Australia
I have recommended this book, as Tan’s writing is an entirely different genre than what we get from the usual writers. It is a must-read for women, as I think they would really enjoy how this author often deals with the interactions between various generations of women. The authors gove a great analysis of the experiences of the older generation Chinese women from what their daughters and granddaughters are going through. In short, this is a fascinating story of a multigenerational Chinese family of women from the early 1900s in China through third-generation Chinese Americans.

Happy Vibes Mini Journal by Kristi Preston

Suggesting this book because I have experienced the quality time it has created with me and my kiddos and want others to enjoy that. Kids never tell you how their day is going but when I sit down with them at night and we talk about what made them happy they respond and I love it!
