Black & Blum Stainless Steel Lunch Box Review:
Stainless Steel
Stainless steel is used because it maintains its strength at high temperatures. This is useful for cooking but it is not good for the environment. It is not easily recycled unless it is 100% stainless steel. Over 80% of stainless steel is mixed with other material to make it cheaper which makes it impossible to recycle.
Components
The Black & Blum Lunch Box consists of used thin wall stainless steel and silicone. This makes a container which is watertight.
Quality of Design
The functions of these containers are very straight forward. They are well designed and easy to use. The way the silicone strap is attached to the lid of the container can be the cause of leaks but they don’t seem to happen if you press the lid on firmly.
Maintenance
The components have very low maintenance and would need to be cleaned each time they are used.
Durability
The lunch box can withstand everyday knocks and bangs and is durable for most life span use
Cost
The lunch box cost was around £30.
Conclusion
The Black & Blum Stainless Steel Lunch Box is designed well and functions well. As a student it is convenient as it can be used for cooking, storing food, carrying lunch, keeping food hot and cold. There is only one drawback to this product, the price.
For a stainless steel container £30 is too much and needs to be re-considered for the product to be able to compete with plastic lunch boxes in the market.
